I’m linking up with Wives of Faith again for today’s blog topic:
What is your favorite quote from a Christmas movie?

I haven’t watched any Christmas movies yet this year; we don’t have cable, so the only time we watch movies is if we redbox them. N did get a membership to the local library a few weeks ago… we might have to go see if they have any Christmas DVD’s to watch over the next few weeks.

I would have to say that my favorite Christmas movie quote is from the movie “Miracle on 34th Street”. In this movie, the character Kris Kringle says, “Christmas isn’t just a day, it’s a frame of mind”. To me, Christmas is much more than a day; because of the gift of Jesus, I am blessed with the gift of eternity!

Another one of my favorite quotes about Christmas is in this movie, this time by the character Fred Gailey who says, “Faith is believing when common sense tells you not to. Don’t you see? It’s not just Kris that’s on trial, it’s everything he stands for. It’s kindness and joy and love and all the other intangibles.” Faith can be hard sometimes. We all have times where it is much easier to listen to the “common sense” of the world, but it is important to remember that usually what we’re going through is so much deeper than its face-value; it relates to how we define (and how the world defines) what we stand for… and often those things are intangible yet integral parts of who we are.

What are your favorite Christmas movie quotes? I would love for you to share them with me along with why they are special to you.

Blessings,
Rachel

I’m linking up with some wonderful military wives as we celebrate 12 days of Christmas by answering questions and sharing memories. Head on over to Wives of Faith and check it out… or even join in if you’re a military spouse!
